Foods to Avoid With Diabetes

A person detected with diabetes must have full knowledge about the foods which are to be totally avoided and the foods which can be partially avoided to maintain the blood sugar level under control. Any food which has direct ingredient of sugar has to be avoided. For example fruit juices, sweets made of sugar and ghee, jam, baked items like cakes, chocolates.These foods items slowly increase the blood sugar level and once your blood sugar level shots up abnormally and continuously, and then you are prone for kidney failure. We have to be careful in choosing the diet.
Rice can be taken in small quantity at regular intervals. Junked food and spicy foods, foods made of jaggary are to be avoided. If a diabetic wants to experiment with new food item, it is better to check the sugar level before and after eating the particular food. Average calories required for a person is 3000 per day, and must avoid over eating. Since the diabetic persons are likely to lose weight, they should have a balanced diet avoiding rice and rice related item. Following tips are given for avoiding foods

– Fast food to be totally avoided
– High sugar content food like sweets, cakes
– Soft drinks and sugar rich fruit juices
– Excessive eating
– Food items cooked in raw rice
– Toxic content foods
– Bacon food
– Alcohol more than moderate level
– Fruits with more sugar content -example,. banana
– Foods cooked with already cooked oils
– Chips with oil soaked
– Pre processed foods sold in the shops and super markets
– More milk related foods,since milk has got natural sugar
– Sugar rich dry fruits
Taking excessive drugs without proper prescription by doctor has to be avoided. It is said in ancient Vedas that man should take food only for his survival and food quantity should be such as medicine to disease.
